Cedar siding has a great reputation as a wood that works well with a wide range of finishes. It can be stained or painted and will provide many years of good service. It is highly resistant to cracking when exposed to weather extremes as long as the surface has been properly coated. However, there are several problems that can cause discoloration.

Installing a ceramic tile backsplash is not a very difficult task and can usually be completed over a weekend. As with most home improvement projects, planning and preparation are the keys. Take your time during the initial planning stage and make sure you have all tools and materials available before starting. Order about 10% extra tiles to cover breakage and future repairs.
